Assistant Horticulturist Required  

GINKGO are a professional and highly experienced horticultural business, having served London and the South East for a quarter of a century. We now employ over 80 staff and take great pride in the fact we have served over 5,500 private clients, businesses and organisations. Since our inception in 1990 we have designed over a thousand gardens and carried out over 15,000 projects, ranging from a smart Chelsea courtyard to a 5 year maintenance contract for 180 estates for the Peabody Trust. Our range of services include Garden Design and Build, Contract Maintenance and Tree Surgery. We have a nursery in Woking where we grow over 20,000 plants each year for our clients and we have offices in Victoria and Battersea.

We are looking for an Assistant Horticulturist to work as a team carrying out maintenance on a select number of prestigious sites in London.

You should have good plant identification and horticultural knowledge. This role requires attention to detail and high standards of maintenance.

Experience in aspects of Soft Landscaping will be an advantage.

Requirements:

Ideally you will have the following:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture or equivalent 
  • PA1 + PA6a certification (Preferable)
  • First Aid at Work training (Preferable)
  • Full Clean UK Driving License (Essential) 

Hours of Work:

Total of 40 hours a week spread over 5 days, with one hour unpaid break during the day.

7.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday

Experience in timber work and paving and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude. 

Driving license is preferable but not essential. 

Salary: £8.00 - £9.75 per hour dependent upon experience
