Parks and open spaces in West Suffolk have a rich and varied tree population which is managed to a high standard. We are seeking a capable, committed and enthusiastic person to join our Parks and Open Spaces Team to help maintain this standard.
You will be responsible for the effective management of the councils' tree stock in parks, open spaces and woodlands. Duties will include dealing with public enquires through a computerised record system, drawing up service agreements and contract specifications for arboricultural work, designing planting schemes and surveying and carrying out risk assessments on the councils' tree stock.
To be successful, you will need a minimum qualification of Technician Certificate in Arboriculture Level 4 and be thoroughly familiar with current arboriculture best practice. You will need good diagnostic and identification skills for a wide variety of tree and shrub species and be computer literate. The ability to work on your own initiative is essential.
You will also be expected to be available for emergency call out.
