Plant Sales Advisor and Nursery Assistant
Our client is a long-established specialist supplier of trees, shrubs and accessories to both trade and private clients across southern England. The company has a reputation for the supply of high quality plants supported by helpful and expert advice. This is an opportunity to join their 14 staff in a small, successful company, in a sales role on the busy retail site.
This role involves working in a small team of 4 people focusing primarily on the retail aspects of our business, helping and advising visiting customers on their choice of plants and dealing with resulting sales transactions. At other times, the role involves general nursery maintenance work.
In addition, we anticipate that the role will develop to include occasional visits to customers to provide on-site pre-sales advice. There is a good working environment.
A good level of plant knowledge, preferably including trees, with the ability to give good practical guidance to customers on plant selection and care.
Good communication and inter-personal skills - customer friendly.
Computer use is required for which training will be provided.
Applicants must be physically fit and happy to do practical work on the nursery.
Need to be able to fit in with and work with others as part of a small team.
Hours of work
Hours are likely to average around 40 hours per week and will include working on Saturdays. However there is some flexibility as to which days and hours are worked during the week but it is likely to require 5 days per week (including Saturday).
The company offers a minimum of 23 days holiday per year (pro rata) plus bank holidays, to be taken outside peak periods of Spring and Autumn.
