Wildflower Turf Ltd is the leading supplier of Wildflower Turf products in the UK. The company supplies many high profile projects throughout the country.  The successful applicant will be part of a motivated team based on a 700 acre arable farm near Basingstoke, Hants.

Turf Farm Production Leader

The ideal applicant will be responsible for operating the bespoke turf lifting machine, designed and built specifically for our unique way of growing turf. They will be required to manage a small production team and work closely with the sales department. Some basic computer experience will be required daily. A variety of tractor driving tasks using machinery unique to our operation will also be part of the role. Attention to detail is also an essential part of this role.

Responsibilities will include:

  • The growing and lifting of turf
  • Re-stocking and maintenance of the soil-less turf growing system
  • The operation of production machinery
  • To help continually develop and improve processes
  • Leader of small production team
  • Day to day planning of lifting schedules

The strongest candidates will have:

  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Effective communication skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Organisational skills
  • Good understanding of IT for farm operations
  • Proficient tractor and Telehandler/forklift driving skills with necessary tickets/qualifications
  • Spraying experience will also be advantageous
  • Agricultural/horticultural experience
  • Experience in managing teams
  • Irrigation knowledge would be an advantage
