Our client is a specialist clematis and climber producer which also produces a large range of fuchsias, evergreens, shrubs and fruit bushes, producing in excess of 5 million units, over 15 acres of glasshouses and tunnels, over 4 sites in the Boston and Spalding area. They supply most of the major supermarkets and multiples. This includes a dedicated propagation unit producing over 3 million units. They are currently seeking a propagator for this unit.

The Propagator will be responsible for the following:
Supervision of propagation staff
Maintaining correct moisture levels in pots.
Laying out and spacing as required.
Maintaining glasshouse environments and recording data.
Monitoring for P&D and reporting to the Technical Manager.
Chemical spraying (PA1 and PA6 required), following spray programmes if required.
Maintenance checks on all relevant machinery and carrying out any training required.
All other propagation work.

Personal qualities:
Ability to work independently
Team player
Attention to detail
Positive 'can do 'attitude'
Carry out instruction and a willingness to learn.
To include some weekend work and overtime in busy times.

Must haves:
PA1 and PA6 spraying qualifications
Horticultural qualification in production horticulture
Technical knowledge of propagation, growing principles, including irrigation and pest and disease and crop protection.
Experience working in commercial horticulture.
Experience of leading a team.
