Royal Trinity Hospice has an opportunity available for a Gardener to join our team based in London. You will join us on a full time permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £24,322 - £25,499 per annum plus excellent benefits.

Royal Trinity Hospice is England’s oldest hospice set within 2 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, providing compassionate end of life care to patients.

About the Gardener role:

Are you passionate about developing our award-winning gardens?  Do you love sharing your gardening knowledge with volunteers and visitors?               

If the answer is yes, we would love to hear from you.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Gardener to lead our team of garden volunteers in growing and developing our hospice garden.

The hospice is set in 3.5 acres of landscaped gardens based on designs by Lanning Roper, and are maintained by a full time gardener and a team of enthusiastic garden volunteers. The garden provides a place of calm and peace for our patients and their families, and for staff and volunteers working at the hospice.  We also open the garden to our community and regularly participate in NGS Open Garden Days. The garden has been a regular winner of the Hospice plate awarded by The London Garden Society.

Skills and experience required to be our Gardener:

- RHS Level 3 horticultural qualification or equivalent experience and you have a good knowledge of plant husbandry, horticultural techniques and plant identification

- Excellent communicator, able to motivate and support volunteers and build relationships across the organisation

- Passionate about gardens and about instilling that passion in others.  You will be confident imparting your own knowledge and expertise and a willing ambassador when it comes to showing the garden for visits, corporate events or Open Garden Days
