Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle. HRP's cause is to help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society, in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

Historic Royal Palaces is looking for an experienced, qualified and visitor focused Team Leader to supervise an experienced team in maintaining and developing the important Tiltyard, The Maze and West Front section within the Historic landscape around Hampton Court Palace.

The Rose Garden, The Maze, The Wilderness, fine lawns, and floral bedding are key elements of this garden, all of which are maintained to high standards.  You will be hands-on, working closely alongside your team and ensuring that the gardens are constantly delighting customers and providing the Grand formal setting for our Palace customers and an exceptional venue for the outdoor events using this area.  Using modern machinery combined with traditional garden methods and forward planning is how we achieve our objectives and maintain the garden’s reputation.

You will also be hands-on and responsible for your team’s health & safety, staff development, work scheduling and the security of all equipment while at the same time having one eye on anything else going on in the Tiltyard and West Front area. Floral bedding designs, maintaining team records and communicating through the internet will also be an important part of your role so IT skills will be needed.

We will expect you to have formal horticultural qualifications to Level 3 that supports your horticultural expertise and proven experience in managing a team.  A full driving licence, leadership training and PA1:PA6 certification would also be advantageous.

Pay: £27,000 per Annum

Closing Date: 11th February

Applications should be made via email to   gregory.leeson@hrp.org.uk
