Trials Manager Horticulture Wisley, Surrey
Circa £36,000 - £38,000 per annum
37.5 hours per week
The Royal Horticultural Society has been the force behind gardening for more than 200 years, and today our aim is to enrich everyone’s life through plants and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place. The trialling and assessment of plants has long been a key part of our work and the RHS Award of Garden Merit (AGM) helps gardeners choose the best plants for their garden.
As Trials Manager you will be responsible for managing, planning and developing the RHS Plant Trials and Roundtable Programme through which AGM’s are awarded. The 30 assessed field trials each year take place at RHS Garden Wisley and other sites across the UK. This post will actively develop these programmes, the value of AGM’s to key audiences and ensure they are promoted through various media.
You will lead a team of five based at RHS Wisley and run the Trials Forums composed of experts from the horticultural industry responsible for judging the trials. The role requires an inclusive approach to working and to develop effective partnerships across the RHS and wider industry. This is an exciting time to join the team with the development of a new Trials Garden at RHS Wisley and the opportunity offered at our new fifth garden, RHS Bridgewater.
Please apply online by completing the RHS Application Form and send your CV and a covering letter highlighting how you match the knowledge, experience and skills requirements of the role at http://www.rhs.org.uk/About-Us/Jobs/Vacancies
All applications should be received by 4pm on Friday 27th January 2017.
