37 hpw and you will be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service which will include some weekend working.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on a wide portfolio that includes parks and open spaces, a ranger service, cemeteries, grounds maintenance, and arboricultural services over two municipal areas.
We are looking for a natural leader with a background in the operational management of parks, open spaces, and the public realm. Skilled in policy development and fully conversant with best practice, you will bring experience of marketing and promoting parks services. A flair for managing people, contracts, budgets, events and assets will also be essential.
West Suffolk are responsible for the management of a diverse portfolio of public open spaces including the Abbey Gardens which is renowned regionally and nationally for its floral displays and as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Nowton Park is a 200 acres country park and is one of four Green Flag accredited sites in the area. The portfolio also includes various nature reserves and SSSI's.
This role requires a confident, enthusiastic and resourceful individual who is used to managing a diverse range of services. You will be a strong communicator both verbally and written, have effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise your own workload. You will, also, be able to work well under pressure, be a self starter and understand the importance of providing excellent customer service.
