Our client is a significant business in Horticulture, which has grown strongly over the last 10 years by carving out a niche in its sector, and as a result is looking to strengthen its team with a newly created role of Senior Technical Manager to lead the technical team and really take the technical function forward to the next level.
Probably in a technical manager role, you will be wanting to take on the challenge of running an entire technical department, dealing with everything from having an involvement with the growing and agronomy teams, through running the quality functions within the pack houses to liaising with the technical managers and buyers of its major customers.
You will have sound agronomy skills and a good understanding of fresh produce, be driven, with strong management and leaderships skills and possess excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. You must have an excellent technical knowledge of either fresh produce or horticulture, and having a good grounding in QA and QC systems.
