Job: Nursery Manager, MorePeople

Our client is a national group of garden centres. They have a production facility at one of their sites growing bedding and herbaceous plants and are currently seeking an experienced Nursery Manager to manage the day to day operation, lead the team and develop the site further. The SUCCESSFUL candidate will be responsible for: • Managing the business on a day to day basis • Implementing, managing and monitoring production plans • Overseeing customer orders from receipt of order to delivery • Managing all purchasing for the nursery and developing relationships with key suppliers as agreed by head office • Proactively seeking and recommending opportunities to profitably advance business growth • Working to agreed timescales and within agreed budgets to achieve targets • Recruiting, managing and developing staff to meet the current and future needs of the business 

The IDEAL person will possess: • Commercial management experience with formal qualifications including spray certificates • Practical hands-on experience of production, planning & scheduling – essential • Good bedding and perennial production experience • An eye for detail and the ability to produce quality plants • Forward thinking with effective communication and interpersonal skills - essential • The ability to deliver excellent customer service • Knowledge of computer based management systems such as stock control, and production planning. • A hands-on leader with the ability to manage staff • Results driven with the ability to achieve and exceed targets set
