Head Gardener 22,000 pa plus outer London weighting of £1,975 paHam House, Richmond-upon-Thames
There can be few finer locations for your gardening and leadership skills than Ham House’s Gardens, a rare example of 17th century design, which requires a talented individual to help in the restoration of these fine features to their original splendour. It’s hard to imagine a finer setting for your gardening talents.
Leading and motivating our gardening team, you will develop and maintain the garden in keeping with its historical and horticultural quality, whilst ensuring that we continue to offer visitors an enriching experience.
Enthusiastic and dedicated, with extensive practical experience of managing a garden, ideally within an historic context, you should have proven experience of managing staff and volunteers and good communication skills. You can demonstrate an extensive knowledge of plants, an appreciation of historical gardening issues, and ideally a relevant horticultural qualification.
In return we offer benefits including staff discounts, 25 days’ holiday pro rata, a pension scheme and free entry to all National Trust properties.
