Job: Plant and Pots Buyer, MorePeople

Our client is a large independent garden centre group based in the south central area of the UK. They are looking for a buyer to provide knowledge and leadership to their buying team, the position also allows the potential for directorship.

The SUCCESSFUL candidate will be responsible for:

• Sourcing, Managing and Administering stock ranges for a key buying area.
• Managing communications with the shop floor teams.
• Reviewing and monitoring ranges based on sales performance.
• Sourcing stock direct from suppliers, wholesalers and trade shows.
• Overseeing the day-to-day management and technical development of the other buyers.

The IDEAL person will possess:

• Extensive experience of Buying in a successful retail outlet. 
• A commercial attitude with a passion for retail.
• Ideas and Vision
• The ability to trial new ideas and concepts into the horticultural industry.
• A Fantastic knowledge of current retail trends.
• Horticultural buying experience is NOT essential – buying within a department store is very welcome
